Track

Track

By: Jake Engelkes

This season in Track we have so far dominated most of our competition. At our last meet on April 19 at Roosevelt AJ Mellilo qualified for state in the 200 meter run, Thomas Hoffman qualified for the 1600 meter, Katelyn Houghton got 2nd in the 100 meter low hurdles, and lastly Sydney Seifert placed first in the Pole Vault. They arrived 30 minutes late and had only 10 minutes to warm up, but it was warm so their muscles were warm and almost all of our athletes ran some of their best times all year. Last Wednesday, April 23rd, Platte Canyon hosted a track meet with three teams, including Clear Creek. We swept most of the events including Katelyn Houghton in the 100m hurdles, Jake Engelkes in the 110m Hurdles, Thomas Hoffman in the 800, and AJ Mellilo in the 100m dash. Coming up we have our League Meet Saturday May 3rd and one week after that we have our regional meet where top three places overall go to the State Meet.
